DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. -- Sunday, the brush fire in Big Talbot Island State Park continued to burn in an inaccessible location.
The fire is off of Heckscher Drive.
The park closed early Saturday and visitors were asked to leave.
Saturday, the estimated size of the fire was 50 to 100 acres. However, Sunday the Florida Forest Service said 11.5 acres had burned.
Flames as tall as 20 feet tall could be seen Saturday.
According to the Florida Forestry Service, the agency had tractors and firetrucks on the scene.
A boat also attacked the fire from the water.
Because the fire is on park property, no homes are nearby.
