ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Just before 11:00 Saturday night, a driver of a truck hit a woman on a scooter at the base of the Bridge of Lions.
Police say the driver took off, parked his car and he was found on foot near the fort.
Meanwhile, the scooter operator was flown to Shands due to her injuries. Police arrested Jeoffrey Borino, 28, of St. Augustine.
He faces charges of hit and run as well as resisting an officer.
According to court records, this is not Borino's first brush with the law.
He has been arrested before for reckless driving and another hit and run in which someone was hurt.
