JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- State attorney Angela Corey says her local office will be able to handle the additional scrutiny and added casework brought on by the Trayvon Martin investigation, in a local exclusive interview with First Coast News.
Moments after she finished taping an interview with Good Morning America, Corey answered some questions about the timeline, the international interest and procedural aspects of the case.
We also asked her how the local caseload in Jacksonville will be affected by the addition of the Trayvon Martin case to her investigators.
"We'll be fine. These lawyers work abundant hours. They work so much overtime. This is one more thing they'll take on as a challenge and they will do a fabulous job," Corey said.
Corey is scheduled to answer questions live on Good Morning Jacksonville Monday morning.
Her interview with Matt Gutman of ABC News will air tomorrow morning during Good Morning America, which starts at 7 a.m. on WJXX, ABC 25.
We also asked her about dealing with outside influences and voices. So many have emerged in the Trayvon Martin case, from the NAACP to President Obama, who commented on the case late last week.
"We really focus on the facts of the case and the law. Our mission is to seek justice. That's what we'll do," Corey said.
