ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A 52-year old Jacksonville woman died in a one car accident on I-95 northbound Saturday afternoon when the SUV she was in overturned after the left rear tire separated.
James Edward Parris Jr., 53, was driving northbound in the inside left lane when the left rear tire separated. The vehicle veered sharply across all travel lanes onto the east shoulder. The vehicle overturned and collided with a tree along the tree line.
Angela Faye Parris died as a result of the crash after being taken to Baptist Medical Center South. Five others were injured.
Tamara Parris, 23, suffered critical injuries and was taken to Shands Hospital in Jacksonville. Daniel Zuzarte, 16, suffered serious injuries. James Parris III,18, Adrienne Parris, 21, and the driver suffered minor injuries. Parris Jr. and Parris III were taken to Baptist Medical Center South.
The accident happened at 3:45 p.m. All were wearing seatbelts except the 16-year old according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
