JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Three juveniles, ages 15, 14, and 12, have been arrested after admitting to throwing rocks from the Chaffee Road and I-10 overpass February 24th.
One of the rocks thrown by the three hit the windshield of a tractor trailer, according to JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda. When the rock hit the windshield the glass shattered, hitting the driver in his eye.
The driver of the semi was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries Bujeda said.
Wednesday police were called by a parent of the boys. She said they had admitted to her they were the ones who were throwing rocks at cars from the overpass.
When police questioned the boys they admitted to throwing the rocks, Bujeda said. They admitted to hitting about 20 cars and were aiming at tractor trailers.
Due to the ages of the three arrested juveniles, First Coast News is choosing not to identify them.
All three are charged with shooting/throwing deadly missiles, a second-degree felony.
