JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville traffic homicide investigators are trying to figure out how a 68-year-man died in a crash behind a Winn-Dixie store Saturday night.
It happened just before 7 p.m. at the store on Argyle Forest Blvd. Police say a car driving behind the Winn-Dixie swerved to avoid hitting a grocery store worker, then crashed into a dumpster.
Police say a 68-year-old man was on the other side of the dumpster and was thrown through the air. He died at the scene from the injuries.
Police still have the service road behind the store blocked off with crime scene tape. They are checking with store managers to see if video cameras captured the incident.
An 18-year-old is being questioned by police as the driver of the car that hit the dumpster. Charges are pending.
