JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A motorcyclist died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash and his body were not found until Friday morning.
The report says 47-year-old Charles Hoehaver III's wife was the last to see him as he left the Lucky Strike Bowling Alley on Harts Road.
Hoehaver was supposed to drive home but never arrived.
Around 8 a.m. Friday someone walking along Dunn Avenue found Hoehaver's body and motorcycle lying off the side of the road.
Hoehaver was heading west on Dunn Avenue when his motorcycle hit the right curb causing him to flip, slide across the sidewalk and end up in the grass shoulder.
The motorcycle went through a fence and ended up in an open field.
The FHP is waiting on toxicology results to determine if alcohol played a role in the crash, but said Hoehaver was wearing a helmet.
