WESTMONT, Pa. -- James and Marjorie Landis of Westmont, Pa., were married for 65 years and, friends say, were almost always together.
This week, Marjorie died at age 87 and, just 88 minutes later, James, 89, also passed away, suffering from a heart attack, The Tribune Democrat says.
The newspaper quotes granddaughter Erin Miller as saying James was at his wife's side when she died on Monday.
"The last thing he said to her was, 'It's OK. I love you. We had many good years together. I will see you real soon,'" Miller says.
"I just think he died of a broken heart," she tells The Tribune Democrat. "I don't think they could have lived apart from each other."
The couple married in 1946 after meeting at a dance.
Miller tells the newspaper that she realized how inseparable her grandparents were when she began looking for photographs for a display board for the funeral home.
"It is hard to find photos of them not together," she says.
