Zachary Lambert, Charged in Car Crash Death, to be Tried in Adult Court

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A teenager charged in the death of a man during a high-speed chase with police will be tried in adult court.

Zachary Lambert, 16, is begin held without bond. His arraignment date has been set for Feb. 6, according to the website for the Clerk of Court for Duval County.

He is charged with vehicular homicide, murder- third degree, felony fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and grand theft auto.

Lambert was arrested following a fatal crash during a high-speed police pursuit in November. Lambert underwent surgery for an injured leg he sustained in the 3 a.m. crash at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and San Pablo Road.

The crash left 22-year-old Christopher S. Thompson dead.

Lambert will be charged in adult court because of the nature of the charges. Sentencing under adult or juvenile guidelines will be at the discretion of the judges.
