JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jaguars will be without backup running back Rashad Jennings this season. The three year veteran announced on Twitter that he will be placed on Injured Reserve because of a knee injury that he suffered against the Bills last Saturday.
Jennings tweeted the following on Saturday afternoon: "A Big Thx to all my Fans for the prays & support. They have decided to place me on IR this yr."
Last season, Jennings rushed for 459 yards and 4 touchdowns as the primary backup to Maurice Jones-Drew. Second year pro Deji Karim appears to be the favorite to take over in Jennings' role as the backup. Montell Owens, Brock Bolen, and Greg Jones are the other running backs expected to make the team.
The Jaguars have to trim their roster down from 80 players to 53 players by 6:00 today.
