JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The youngest murder suspect in the city's history, 12-year-old Cristian Fernandez, was expected back in court this morning for the results of a psychiatric exam, but it was delayed.
Fernandez is accused of first degree murder in connection with the death of his 2-year-old half brother, David Gala.
Investigators say Gala died as a result of a fatal beating after he was rammed into a bookshelf by his older brother.
Today's hearing was expected to announce the results of two psychological exams.
The results from one of them are in, but the delay was to wait for the results from the second.
Fernandez will be back in court October 5.
Biannela Susana, who is the mother of the boys, is also in jail charged with aggravated manslaughter. She appeared briefly in court on Wednesday.
Susana's two other children, ages four and six, have been placed in foster care.
