JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In a rare predawn news conference, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of one man in connection with the shooting on Prince Street on Tuesday that left three dead and little boy seriously injured.

Charged with two counts of murder is Theodist Tryrone Desean Richardson.  Police say they are also looking for another suspect in the shooting.

Chief Tom Hackney said community support with information was huge in making an arrest, "It's because of community coming forward and being involved and telling us what they knew," said Hackney.

Eyewitnesses told police that Richardson, 20, and Billy Lorenzo Johnson, 31, arrived together at 1324 Prince Street around 4:30 p.m. and soon thereafter got into a physical confrontation with 26-year-old Kenneth E. Curry.

Police believe Richardson pulled a handgun, then so did Curry, and they began shooting at each other.

During the shooting, 19-year-old Danielle Dominique Melton and a toddler, Marc Smith, were shot, as was Johnson.  Another person reported that Richardson fired into her apartment.

Richardson reportedly fled the scene after the shooting.

Curry and Johnson died at the scene.

The toddler and Melton were taken to Shands, where Melton died. Police said the toddler is having surgery this morning.

Richardson later contacted police, but initially denied shooting at anybody.

Eventually, police said, he admitted to shooting at Curry.

Richardson faces two murder charges, one charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Chief Hackney also stressed that Tuesday's shooting is no way related to Sunday night's gunfire in Johnson Park in Brooklyn that left 11 people injured.  In that shooting a pregnant mother lost her baby as result of her injuries.

JSO says what happened on Prince Street was drug related with Richardson acting in retaliation.
