The homicide scene is on Galway Avenue on the Northside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Foul play is suspected in the death of a woman found today in a Northside home.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, 61-year-old Paula Francis Milam was found in a home on Galway Avenue late this morning.

Police say Milam's daughter found her body around 11 a.m.

Neighbors told First Coast News they saw nothing suspicious at her home and are a little unsettled with news of Milam's death. "It's been kind of peaceful in my opinion. I've been here three, four months, never seen anything happen," said Richard Tullis, a neighbor.

One neighbor said she had lived in the home for 30 years.  Bruce Goffin, a neighbor, said Milam had numerous roommates.

Homicide investigators remained on the scene Monday evening. Police said there was no sign that someone forced their way in to Milam's home, but they do suspect foul play.

"At this time, we think it to be an isolated incident," said Sgt. Lonnie Mills of the JSO homicide unit.

No information about any suspects or cause of death has yet been released.
