Alcohol likely a factor in deadly Alachua County crash

Florida Highway Patrol says two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of U.S. 441 Friday morning. 

According to investigators on scene, the crash involved a Jetta and a Scion. 

Troopers say the driver of the Scion was pronounced dead on scene by Alachua County Fire Rescue. 

Two other occupants were transported from the scene to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fl with
life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jetta was transported to UF Health Shands with serious injuries. A minor passenger in the Jetta was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital with critical injuries.
