65-year-old woman rescued off cruise ship

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 65-year-old woman was medically evacuated from a cruise ship Monday by the U.S. Coast Guard.

After receiving reports from the captain of the cruise ship, Carnival Paradise, about a woman experiencing chest pains, the Coast Guard sent a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater to rescue her.

The Jayhawk crew arrived at approximately 1 a.m., hoisted the patient and the cruise ship nurse, then transported them to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa.
