15-year-old female hit by vehicle in Orange Park

ORANGE PARK, Fla. --  A teenage female pedestrian suffered non life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning while crossing the road in Lakeside.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 15-year-old female was hit at the intersection of Blanding Blvd. and Jefferson Ave. just after 7 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2016. The female is believed to have been on her phone while crossing the busy intersection.

The injuries she sustained are not thought be serious at the moment, according to FHP. She has since been transported to Orange Park Medical Center for treatment.

Both Blanding Blvd. and Jefferson Ave. are currently open following the incident. First Coast News will update this story with further information as it is released.
