Governor Scott announces new jobs in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- More than 120 jobs are coming to a company in Jacksonville. That will almost double Advent Software's workforce.

Governor Rick Scott joined Mayor Alvin Brown in announcing the new jobs. The company will offer 123 new positions at Black Diamond, the Jacksonville branch of Advent Software.

"We expect that close to the end of the year, we could be close to 200 employees. So, we're growing quickly, Hopefully, clients, we can help their businesses continue to grow. So we can continue to grow as well," says Dave Welling, Black Diamond's General Manager.

Governor Scott said this is a great thing not only for Jacksonville, but for the state of Florida as well

"One hundred and twenty jobs are important when you think about it. I grew up in a family that struggled for work and every family that now has a job who didn't have one. What a great day for them," said Governor Scott.

The average salary for these jobs is $67,000.
