JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Mayor Alvin Brown is to commence a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new financial service center in Springfield where northeast Florida residents can get professional tax help for free during tax season.
The Real$ense One-Stop Financial Service Center opening ceremony marks the program's 10th year in operation.
According to a release from Real$ense, the organization helped more than 16,000 taxpayers in northeast Florida file their taxes for free and access more than $22 million in refunds.
The program also helped eligible taxpayers claim more than $6.2 million in Earned Income Tax Credits.
The new permanent location is to offer its services year-round.
Volunteers with Real$ense provided their services at 64 area locations in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties.
The event is to be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Springfield Branch, located at 1601 N. Main Street.
