JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A community group is tackling the priority system used to determine placement in Duval County magnet school programs.
Nine schools currently give a priority one preference to students who live in former attendance boundaries of a dedicated magnet school. Those schools are: Jacksonville Beach, J. Allen Axon and Pine Forest elementary schools, James W. Johnson, Kirby-Smith, Darnell-Cookman and Landon middle schools, and Stanton College Prep and Paxon School for Advanced Studies.

The Duval County School Board expects to address any possible changes during its December meeting.
