Chaz Bono beat the odds last week. "Can he defy the odds again?" asked host Tom Bergeron at the opening of Dancing With the Stars' results show.
Cuddly Chaz was in last place for the second week in a row. Things weren't looking good.
And surprise! Just minutes in, Chaz was declared safe! Co-host Brooke Burke Charvet reminded that Chaz's mom, Cher, tweeted yesterday that if Chaz made it through, she'll be in the audience next week. So we'll be seeing Cher in the ballroom soon.
As the show went on, Mary J. Blige performed, an amusing "6 Degrees of Separation" segment showed how the stars were all (sort of) connected, the DWTS troupe danced a Gone With the Wind number and Estelle put her own spin on Chubby Checker's Twist. And then Chubby himself appeared to sing his famous song.
When David Arquette was asked midway through the show how he was feeling about his chances of moving on, he replied, "I've gotten to dance with Kym. I've gotten a spray tan. I've won already."
It came down to Carson Kressley and Hope Solo and reality TV star Kristin Cavallari.
And it was goodbye, Kristin. "The ballroom is quite upset," said Brooke Burke Charvet after breaking the news.
"I'm a little surprised to be honest," said Kristin, but she added, "It is what it is." Said her pro partner and USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas, "She had great potential. I thought she killed it last night."
Next week's Monday night performance theme is "movie scores." On Tuesday, Julianne Hough returns.
