JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Optimism is the name of the for Jaguars fans the night before the AFC Championship Game.

“We are winning tomorrow,” Bill McLane said. “We’ve got Tom Coughlin back, Giants beat the Patriots twice, we’ve got the defense that can take Tom Brady down. It’s our time, we’re doing it.”

“[They have] more than a chance [of beating the Patriots],” St. Augustine resident Kathryn Charalambous said. “They’re going to win.”

Even the newest Jacksonville residents are rallying behind their team.

“I’ve lived in Jacksonville for one day,” Tommy Franye said. “One day and I’m already a big fan! It’s like moving into a winning city. I’m ready to be a winner with Jacksonville and the Jaguars!”

Some fans are already calling the score.

“We’re saying 35-18. Jaguars,” Chad McIntyre said. “I think this team has really prepared themselves and they’re ready to go tomorrow.”

Jacksonville is buzzing with excitement ahead of the big game.

“Having a city where we’re so proud, it’s nice to have the spotlight,” Mary Denning said. “And we’re ready for Bortles and Fournette to do their thing tomorrow!”

Even if the Jags fall in New England, this season is one to remember.

“Either way I think we have something to celebrate and definitely something to look forward to in the future,” Jamais McLane said.
