JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens welcomes a baby Guereza Colobus monkey.
The monkey was born early Sunday morning to first-time parents, Akara and Calli. According to the Zoo's Facebook post, this is the first newborn Colobus monkey born at the zoo in more than 16 years.
The newborn is almost all white, and will grow black fur as it gets older.
The sex of the newborn is unknown at this time because the staff tries to remain hands-off with newborn primates unless it is medically necessary, the post says.
