Possible metal shavings inside of Publix apple coffee cakes

Check the UPC code if you bought coffee cake at the supermarket recently.

Lakeland, FL – If you bought an apple coffee cake from Publix, you need to check the UPC code. Publix is voluntarily recalling it's apple coffee cakes because there could be small metal shavings inside.

Publix says the cakes were sold at stores in the following counties in Florida: Alachua, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, DeSoto, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota.They have a UPC of 002-19562-00000 and include all date codes.

Representatives for the supermarket say no one has reported getting sick or hurt.

If you have one of the apple coffee cakes with that UPC code you should return it to the store for a full refund.
