SACRAMENTO, CA -- Rosie O'Donnell is calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush.
In a statement to her ABC audience on "The View" Rosie said, ?We've given you [Bush] 4 years and 3,000 American lives, enough sir.?
The comment's came after President Bush's State of the Union Address Monday night caused a heated debate on the set of "The View."
Rosie went further to say, ?You know what I think the Congress should do, and I'm sure this will make me in some sort of celebrity feud or AOL poll, but someone, I believe, should call for the impeachment of George W. Bush, to let the world know.?
Rosie went on to say, ?I think we should do it so the world knows that the nation is not standing behind this President, these choices. That the nation, a democracy, feels differently than the man who is leading as if it were a dictatorship. And that ?we? represent this country, he does not lead as a monarch.?
Whether the call to impeach holds any water Rosie says it should be done anyway. ?Even if he doesn't get impeached that we should call on it to tell the world that we are against his policy.?
In response to Rosie's comments on the show, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck said, ?It could be dangerous when you're in the middle of a war to call for the impeachment of your leader. You have to think about the long term affects.?
Rosie responded saying, ?I'm saying that someone should stand up and say, when democracy was dying, I Senator said I am against this. To call for impeachment is a political statement from the people they represent. Is there some Senator brave enough to stand up and say it??
In recent headlines a feud between O'Donnell and Apprentice host Donald Trump caused heated debates between the two that were very public.
