The 80's action adventure series "Knight Rider" returns with a new two hour movie this Sunday night on NBC. It's "Knight Rider" for a new generation. The Trans-Am is now a Ford Mustang, the talking car has a new voice and there's a different man behind the wheel. "This car has nanotechnology. It can change into whatever it needs to survive," said actor Justin Bruening.

Justin Bruening stars as mike tracer in the two-hour movie that continues legacy of the 80's hit.

"It's the car I always wanted as a kid. It's actually my company car now, so to speak," Bruening said.

The show's original "Knight Rider", David Hasselhoff, also makes an appearance.

"Everywhere I go, it's not Baywatch, it's yo' Knight Rider!" said Hasselhoff.

"This is like the perfect role for me. I got cars, fights and guns. I'm like a kid in a candy store," said Bruening.

Tracer's also got a love interest in Sara Graiman, the PhD. daughter of Kitt's creator.

Deanna Russo plays Sara.

Russo said, "No matter what happens, Sara never loses her sense of sarcasm and wit."

Along with the actors, the car gets heavy-duty star treatment on the set.

Bruening said, "We have hair and makeup. Every 5 minutes, there's someone that buffs the finger prints off Kitt."

After all, even motorized crime fighters have to look good. In case you were wondering, the voice of the new "Kitt" is actor Val Kilmer.

Knight Rider airs Sunday, February 17 at 9 p.m. on WTLV NBC12.
