ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A public funeral will be held Sunday in Montreat, N.C., for George Beverly Shea, who sang for more than 60 years at the Rev. Billy Graham's crusades.
Shea died Tuesday at the age of 104 after a brief illness.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association says the funeral will celebrate the Grammy-winning gospel singer's "life, music and ministry."
Shea will be buried in a private ceremony Monday on the grounds of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.
In a statement, Graham said George Beverly Shea was "a role model of what a Christian ought to be."
