ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- February 10 Ripley's Believe it or Not will attempt to break the world record for the largest wedding vow renewal ceremony.
Last year the event drew over 700 couples from seven countries, according to a news release from Ripley's.
The current record holder is the University of Miami with 1,087 couples.
Registration for couples wishing to be a part of the world record attempt will be held at Ripley's at 11 a..m the day of the event. The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.
Participating couples will receive a free carnation, a cup of biodegradable confetti to throw after the ceremony, wedding cake and a complimentary romantic train ride down the bay front. Photographers will also be at the vow renewal to document the big day.
There is no charge to participate in the event. Each couple will need to bring a photo copy of their original wedding certificate and a photo ID.
The ceremony will be performed in English, Spanish and sign language.
One couple will receive a free honeymoon package.
Ripley's St. Augustine will be closed for the event. Participants will need to park in the parking garage or nearby lots.
