If you ask Anderson Cooper, being a
celebrity isn't all about glitz and glam. In fact, the famous newsman
is so un-fancy that he wears the same jeans every day and even admits
that he doesn't wash them very often.
While chatting with What Not to Wear co-host and fashion guru Stacy London on his show Anderson Live Thursday, Cooper, who is recovering from a temporary blindness, revealed his preference for a simple style of dress.
"In
my real life, I wear a T-shirt, gray or white, and the same pair of
jeans," he told London. "Literally, the same pair of jeans every day."
And, what's more, they don't regularly see the inside of a washing machine.
"They
have these jeans you don't have to wash now -- or so they say. It's
true!" he claimed. "I went to this store APC which has really nice
stuff. And you buy these things and the person said to me, 'Don't wash
them for a long time.' They mean like six months, I think."
When
London suggested he increase the frequency of his laundry routine and
advised that he nix the soap and use cold water to get them clean,
Cooper revealed the strange way in which he does wash his dungarees.
"The
times I've done it, I've worn them and walked into my shower with them
and put some soap on them and then air dried them. Isn't that how you
are supposed to do it?"
Um, not so much, Coop.
