Michael Bay can't get enough Mark Wahlberg.
After the director and actor teamed up for the bodybuilder thriller Pain & Gain, Bay said he would cast Wahlberg in his upcoming Transformers 4, due in theaters June 27, 2014.
Bay announced the casting news Thursday night through his website and Paramount Pictures, which is releasing Transformers and Pain,
scheduled to hit screens April 26, 2013. That film, co-starring Dwayne
Johnson, centers on two bodybuilders caught in an extortion ring.
"Mark is awesome," Bay said in a press release. "We had a blast working on Pain & Gain
and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his
caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on
the Transformers' legacy."
