Savannah Guthrie tried again this morning on Today.
She told Robert Pattinson that yesterday she flat-out asked Kristen Stewart if "you two had gotten back together."
Had Pattinson seen the interview?
"No, what did she say," the Twilight star answered. (Really? Hadn't heard about it at all?)
Guthrie then told him that Stewart said, " 'Keep 'em guessing.' "
"Keep 'em guessing?" he repeated, puzzled.
Guthrie said, "So, I'm going to ask you" meaning: Are they back together?
Pattinson
chuckled nervously, "I want to ask, cuz we get asked it all the time,
everyone always asks, like for four years. Who is actually asking? Is it
in your contract?" he asked Guthrie.
"Yes, it is. It's in the
fine print," she said, laughing. "If I'd only known." Then, she wondered
if the fame that has come with the monster success of the Twilight franchise has been worth it, because "it is personal now" for you.
"Doesn't
have to be," he said. "It only becomes personal if you answer it. I
could sit here and talk nonsense about paper hats and stuff, getting
old, needing a nap." He laughed.
She moved on to ask about the
nickname R-Patz and he said, "I literally don't understand. It does
sound like an antacid tablet."
