For years, Oprah Winfrey wowed viewers every year with her "Favorite
Things" show, as she handed out one fabulous prize after another to
lucky audience members.
She went out with a bang in 2010, when, in a two-part episode, she gave away items that included a hot new thing called an iPad, Ugg sequined boots and a 2012 VW beetle.
Now, Oprah has announced she has revived the franchise and will air Oprah's Favorite Things: 2012 on Nov. 18 as a two-hour special from 8 to 10 p.m. ET on OWN.
As
always, she will unveil her must-haves for the holiday season and that
includes a "top-secret giveaway" for an unsuspecting group of military
spouses from each branch of the Armed Forces. (So that's why she was spotted on Thursday in downtown D.C.)
With help from her BFF and O Magazine's
editor-at-large, Gayle King, and creative director Adam Glassman, Oprah
enlisted designers Michael Kors and Tory Burch and celebrity chef
Curtis Stone to help find the hottest, newest, tastiest items of the
year for the magazine's O List (on stands Nov. 6).
During
the two-hour event, viewers for the first time in the history of
"Favorite Things," will also have the opportunity to "Watch and Win"
select items featured within segments of the show. By texting the
correct key word to a short code at designated points throughout the
premiere airing, viewers will be entered into a drawing to win.
Additional details on how to enter will be available starting Nov. 1.
