JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Here is a list of events going on this weekend.

EDUCATOR APPRECIATION DAYS AT THE ST. AUGUSTINE PIRATE MUSEUM: Florida educators get free entry into the museum through October 14th. Teachers and School Board employees from anywhere in Florida with a current pay stub and photo ID or a photo employee ID from their school can visit the museum for FREE. Anyone accompanying educators is 50% off the price of admission. Regular admission to The Pirate Museum is $12.99 for adults, $6.99 for children 5 to 12 years old, and children under 4 years old FREE. Be sure to bring a photo ID or a photo employee ID from their school and the most recent pay stub to the museum.

SHRIMP AND GRITS FESTIVAL: Set in the Jekyll Island Historic District, Shrimp & Grits: The Wild Georgia Shrimp Festival provides a laid-back, relaxed Southern atmosphere complimentary of delicious coastal cuisine and great entertainment. Activities at the festival include an Amateur and Professional Shrimp and Grits Cooking Competition, cooking demonstrations, cookbook signings, an array of fine arts and craft vendors, live entertainment, and interactive activities for kids. The Shrimp & Grits Festival is fun for all ages and entry is free. It's Saturday and Sunday near the Jekyll Island Historic Wharf.

JACKSONVILLE FARMERS MARKET: Open every day of the year, dawn to dusk, save up to 70% or more on NE Florida's largest & fresh selection of local, ethnic, and specialty produce, agricultural and other food products. It's free to attend. The farmer's market runs this Saturday from 7 a.m. Through 7 p.m.

AKC FUN MATCH: The German Shepherd Dog Club of North Florida is having an AKC fun match Saturday. Entries are from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and the show will begin at 10 a.m. There will be food, a raffle, and the show will be located at 6932 Morse Avenue at the JDFA show grounds.

BOSELLI MUD RUN: Helping Jacksonville kids tackle life's obstacles, the Boselli Mud Run is one of the Boselli Foundation's two signature fundraising events. The 2012 Boselli Mud Run, presented by Firehouse Subs, will feature a 5K Mud Run and Kids Mud Run. With more than 30 professionally built obstacles and some of the muddiest pits in the southeast, the Boselli Mud Run is North Florida's premiere mud event. Built for free spirits and fierce competitors alike, the Boselli Mud Runners will not only experience fun and challenging obstacles, they will also raise funds for one of North Florida's leading children's charities. Cost: Registration Fee, plus $71 fundraising requirement. It's at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m.

FLORIDA HERITAGE BOOK FESTIVAL: Celebrate Florida's rich and colorful literary heritage at the Florida Heritage Book Festival at the Ringhaver Student Center, 50 Sevilla Street in St. Augustine. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, there will be author presentations and a book marketplace. At 11:45 a.m., Jeff Lindsay will be there to sign copies of his Dexter novels - the basis for the popular TV series of the same name on the Showtime network. His wife, Hilary Hemingway, niece of Ernest Hemingway, will be there too. Admission is free.

COASTAL CLEANUP DAY: From 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, local volunteers can join over a half million people in more than 150 countries cleaning up the shores of rivers, lakes, streams and oceans. Participants can pick up their supplies from the GTM Research Reserve's Environmental Education Center, located at 505 Guana River Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach South or the Marineland office, 9741 Ocean Shore Blvd, St. Augustine. The Reserve hopes to have people cleaning the Atlantic shoreline throughout Florida's Historic Coast.

BEACHES DOG SHOW AND EXPO: The amateur dog show caters to all breeds, plus there will be an expo featuring local businesses that offer products and services to dog owners. It's Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Ocean Room off 2nd Avenue in Jacksonville Beach. For more information, please call 904-853-6939 or email theoceanroomevents@gmail.com. 1ST ANNUAL CRAFT SHOW AND FLEA MARKET: For the first time ever and for one day only, the Bradford County Public Library will be turned into a marketplace with crafts and vendors. It's Saturday from 9 a.m. To 3 p.m.

SPORTS CARD AND COLLECTIBLES SHOW: The sports card and collectibles show takes over the Quality Inn off Commonwealth Avenue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and racing cards, autographed memorabilia and more!

PAJ WALKING IN RECOVERY WALK: PAJ "Walking in Recovery" Foundation presents the 3rd annual walk to be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Metropolitan Park. Registration fee is $30. If you would like to sponsor or register, go on pajwalkinginrecovery.org. Following the event, there will be a cook out at A. Philip Randolph.

EATING AND GROWING SEASONABLY: An "Eating and Growing Seasonably" Workshop complete with a food demo/sampling takes place Saturday. Use seasonal produce and learn to grow warm season vegetables at the Duval County Extension Office 1010 N. McDuff Ave. 32254, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $10. SUPER SMASH BRO. BRAWL TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION: Join Gorilla Games as they host a Super Smash Bro. Brawl tournament to benefit the American Heart Association. 100% of the proceeds will go to the American Heart Association. There will be a $5 door fee plus $5 for singles, and $10 for doubles in the tournament. Registration opens at 10 a.m. with the doubles tournament starting at 12 p.m.

SHELTER DOGS ADOPTION EVENT: Friends of Jacksonville Animals will be at the Mandarin Pet SuperMarket. Shelter dogs from First Coast No More Homeless Pets will be available for adoption. It's Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. off San Jose Blvd.

LITERACY FAIR: The 10th Annual FSCJ North Campus Literacy Fair and "Sign-Up for College Day" will take place on Saturday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event encourages the love and joy of reading. There will be storytelling sessions, live performances and demonstrations. Lunch will be served free to the community. They will also be giving away tons of children, teen, and adult books. The event will be held in the Main Courtyard at FSCJ North Campus, located at 4501 Capper Road and it's free to attend.

PUERTO RICAN FESTIVAL: Celebrate the Puerto Rican Culture with live entertainment by Renacer Borincano, Daryman "El Boss", Eligio "El Nene", Alexandra DLG, traditional dancers and more at the Jacksonville Landing Saturday from 10 a.m. through midnight.

DAY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE: Northeast Florida Community Action Agency and community partners invite you to observe September 11th with a special day of activities focused on building Healthy Futures. Learn how to prepare for a hurricane; get free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol; learn how to make healthy meals with cooking demonstrations and recipe giveaways; enjoy fun fitness activities; reduced cost prescription cards and more. It's all free and open to the public Saturday from 10 a.m. To 2 p.m. at the Emmett Reed Center.

RIVERSIDE ARTS MARKET: The Riverside Arts Market is every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. off Riverside Avenue underneath the Fuller Warren Bridge. It features crafts, art, live entertainment and more!

JACKSONVILLE PAGAN PRIDE DAY: A free event focused on education, community, charity, and activism of Paganism as well as promoting religious freedom and acceptance for all! Event is hosted by Jacksonville Pagan Pride Alliance, a chapter group of the Pagan Pride Project. JaxPPD festivities will include collecting donations for local non-profits organizations, educational workshops, tons of vendors, and a community Mabon ritual. It's Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Riverside Park.

AMELIA ISLAND BLUES FESTIVAL: The Amelia Island Blues Festival brings top-name blues artist to Amelia Island for a late summer beach party Saturday and Sunday starting at noon both days. ZOOBILEE: Over-the-top fun in the private setting of the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens! With signature dishes from exclusive restaurants and cool cocktails for the grown-ups, as well as kid-friendly treats around every corner, this is an exclusive family fun night you don't want to miss. Giant bouncy houses and slides, games and prizes, animal encounters, train rides and many more surprises await you! The fundraising event is Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

FEED THE NEED FEST 2012: Camping World of St. Augustine will be hosting their very own RV show, with two bands playing throughout the evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Adamec Harley Davidson (Baymeadows/I95) and Rolling Thunder Riders (Proud supports of POW/MIA) will be on site showing off their bikes for all their guests at the event. The First Coast Car Council will be cruising in to show off their various cars from their assorted car clubs. The food truck challenge will be going on all night long. Guests to the event will have to bring money for food. Food trucks will be going head to head for a good cause to find out who can raise the most sales. All trucks will be donating a portion of their proceeds to Second Harvest and the Foodies Care - U Can Change Hunger Campaign. There will also be door prizes and a silent auction. "FIGHT NIGHT IN DUVAL" PROFESSIONAL BOXING: It's a Night Of Professional Boxing that welcomes all ages at Plush Nightclub Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Cost: ringside seating is $69 and general admission is $39.

THE LEGEND OF SHATTERED ISLAND: A live theatrical event taking place at the Arena at 7830 Normandy Blvd. at 8 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public. There will be 5 stages, professional dance choreography, costumes and concessions.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT PERFORMS: Arrested Development performs at Freebird Live Saturday at 8 p.m. in Jacksonville Beach. It's the 20th anniversary tour.

ARTFUSION SUNDAYS: ArtFusion provides a creative and supportive environment for children to work with their parents or adult caregivers. Join us this fall for hands-on projects that relate to the featured exhibition, ReFocus: Art of the 1980s.It's Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at MOCA Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: The Jaguars take on the Houston Texans at Everbank Field Sunday at 1 p.m.

THE JACKSONVILLE LANDING: Live music and Benny's Steak and Seafood Low Country Shrimp and Crawfish Boil are at the Landing Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Jaguars post-game celebration takes place afterwards from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with drink specials and live entertainment.

THE HEART OF JACKSONVILLE AFRICAN VIOLET SOCIETY MEETING: First meeting and workshop of the season. Learn to grow African Violets, one of the top ten favorite houseplants. Free first visit. Free parking. It's Sunday from 1 p.m. To 3 p.m. at The Heart of Jacksonville African Violet Society at The Garden Club of Jacksonville off Riverside Avenue.
