Howard Stern had been doing some big talking about confronting Sharon Osbourne to talk to her about staying on America's Got Talent for another season.
"I am going to talk to her about it when I get on the show," he said last week on his Sirius XM radio show. "I would say 'Hey, Sharon, let's talk about whether you are staying or going [because of] this thing with Jack. I think it would be compelling television."
That didn't happen this week on the air.
Backstage, on Wednesday, Access Hollywood asked Stern about Osbourne, and he said was sad to think she won't be back.
"I'm more than sad. I think that there's a great dynamic between Sharon, Howie [Mandel] and myself. I think we've been doing a good job judging. I enjoy working with Sharon, I've known her for years."
He went on to say, "I hope some sort of miracle can happen. Maybe she's got to walk into [NBC top boss] Bob Greenblatt's office and get down on her knees and beg him. I don't know what's going on I'm, I'm not privy to it, but I hope that she does return and maybe has a change of heart."
And, when sked if there's a way to get Sharon to stay on the show, he cracked, "I'm still working on the Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart thing. I want to get Kristen to stay."
He added, "I am one man. So I'm working with Kristen right now and then I'm going to move on to Sharon."
