When Larry King left CNN in December 2010, "I thought I would have kind of a life of retirement," he says.

But King, 78, who hosted a nationwide call-in radio program and cable's most famous talk show, says his wife Shawn asked, "Why don't you think about going on the Internet?" And a connection to Mexican financier Carlos Slim made that happen: They formed Ora TV and sold a four-day-a-week show that began streaming exclusively on Hulu earlier this month.

Appearing in front of TV critics in a blue shirt and trademark red suspenders, he says, "Technically, I'm an idiot; I don't know how it works," he says. "But I'm thoroughly enjoying it." King works out of a studio in Glendale, Calif., and says the freedom of the Internet doesn't mean he'll let his guests curse. (He bleeps them even though he doesn't have to).

His guests so far have included Judge Judy, Rudy Giuliani, Colin Farrell, Matthew McConnaughey and Regis Philbin, and he says he'll go on as long as he can: "They'll probably have to carry me out!"

Besides his venue, what's changed in journalism since he began his long career? "A lot of it now is get it on, rather than get it right," he says. "I'm not sure we're better served, but you can't compare eras. We certainly have more information at our disposal...but the Murrows are few and far between."
