Al Pacino is once again eyeing Broadway. According to the New York Times, the star has set his sights on a revival of David Mamet's darkly comic classic Glengarry Glen Ross.
Pacino appeared in the 1992 film version of the play; his portrayal of high-flying real estate salesman Ricky Roma earned him an Oscar nomination. In the new production, he would play Roma's older colleague, Shelly Levene, a former ace now down on his luck.
Though the new
Glengarry has not been officially confirmed, the report said it is planned for the 2012-13 season, with veteran director Daniel Sullivan on board. Sullivan guided Pacino in his last Broadway outing, a staging of
The Merchant of Venice that earned the actor and Sullivan Tony nominations.
