•Bowled over. NBC's Super Bowl XLVI notched a third consecutive ratings record for a U.S. telecast, claiming 111.3 million viewers, up a tick from last year's 111 million in a game whose outcome was decided on the final play. Madonna's halftime show (114 million) was also the most-watched in bowl history.

•LoudVoice. The second-season opener of NBC's The Voice, which followed the big game, drew a big 37.6 million viewers, marking the network's top-rated entertainment telecast since the finale of Friends in 2004. The premiere was well ahead of last year's postgame Glee on Fox (26.8 million), but below 2010's premiere of CBS' Undercover Boss (38.7 million). Later Sunday, a special live episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (6.2 million) drew that show's biggest audience.

•Idoltryouts. The Voice's debut coincided with the end of American Idol's three-week audition round: Fox's (still) top-rated series is averaging 20.6 million viewers, down 19% (or nearly 5 million viewers) from last year. Among young adults, Idol is down 23%, similar to the declines faced by ABC's Dancing With the Stars and NBC's The Biggest Loser this season.

•Openers. NBC's Who Do You Think You Are? (6.1 million viewers Friday); Comedy Central's Tosh.0 (3.1 million) and Key & Peele (2.1 million, both Tuesday); Nickelodeon's How to Rock (3.3 million Saturday); and MTV's latest scripted series, I Just Want My Pants Back (1.8 million Thursday, behind Jersey Shore's 5.7 million).

•Signing off. Modestly: NBC's Who's Still Standing? (6.5 million viewers Monday); ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap (5.4 million Tuesday); TV Land's The Exes (1.2 million Wednesday).
