Madonna Plans Most Extensive World Tour Yet

NEW YORK -- Madonna still hasn't mentioned M.I.A.'s middle finger salute at Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show, but the Material Girl has announced some tour details.

She'll kick things off on May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel, and it will be her most extensive tour ever in terms of number of dates, Arthur Fogel, CEO of Live Nation Global Touring, tells Billboard.

The tour, Madonna's fifth with Live Nation, will take her to Australia for the first time in 20 years. The tour will play 26 European markets, including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin, before hitting North American shores beginning Aug. 28 in Philadelphia. There are 26 shows planned for North America, including Sept. 6 at New York's Yankee Stadium and Oct. 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale beginning Feb. 10 in Tel Aviv and the U.K., with North American tickets going on sale beginning Feb. 13.

The 2012 tour, with close to 90 shows, will follow the release of Madonna's new album"MDNA" due March 26.

Her closest stop to the First Coast will be in Atlanta November 17, 2012.
