JACKSONVILLE, FL -- People from every state and several countries have already registered for our first ever National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer.

Now you won't be surprised to know that Florida and Georgia have registered the most, but guess who is number three?

It's Texas! So in this week's Running Journal, we take a road trip.

Jeff Galloway and I were invited to join a group in Austin for a training run.

And those folks in Texas sure know how to make you feel welcome!

"I'm running with Donna in Austin, Texas!" Are they ever! And this is one fun running group.

Love the Heisman pose.

"This is a group of friends with a running problem," says BCM Race Director Jeff Galloway.

It's not a problem for me, Jeff! I love these folks. They are coming all the way to Jacksonville to run the National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer.

Melinda is running for her daughter.

"As someone with a teenage daughter, I want this to be gone by the time she grows up, and I like the idea of doing what I can for research to make that possible," she says.

Gloria has a friend with breast cancer.

"I am running the BCM this year and I'm running in honor of my friend Shirley MacInally," she says.

Tom and Vicki say the family that runs together stays together.

"We like to run marathons together," says Tom. "But we don't hold hands the WHOLE way," adds Vicki.

And Bob...well, he just likes the perks.

"Julie and Marcie are Bob's babes. They came out for a run one day with shirts that say Bob's babes, and they gave me a shirt that says I'm Bob," he says.

I want to thank Bob, AND his babes and the rest of our Galloway team in Austin for the warm welcome.

I'm psyched to see those running ribbons next to those Texas license plates.

Jeff and I had a great visit and we promise to return the hospitality next February in Jacksonville Beach!
