Ryan Duffy joined the First Coast News Team in September 2006.
Since then he has already witnessed the aftermath of several Florida natural disasters. He reported for weeks from the scene of spring wildfires that burned throughout the state and into South Georgia.
He also covered the February tornado that hit Lake County and waterspouts at the coast.
Before he was a Floridian, Ryan was an award winning reporter in Georgia, receiving awards from the Georgia Associated Press, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and he was a cowinner of an Edward R. Murrow award for breaking news coverage.
Ryan graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and has worked as a reporter in Missouri and Kansas.
He has also received awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and the Hearst Foundation.
Ryan is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors organization.
Ryan was born and raised in the Chicago area. He has a dog named Buck Duffy.
