Deanna Fene' is now anchoring the 6pm and 11pm news on Saturday and Sunday nights. After anchoring the 7pm news on ABC25 for 8 years, Deanna was ready for a change and wanted to be able to spend more time with her 3 kids during the week. Deanna continues to work on special projects including her two popular weekly segments during the school year, Teacher of the Week and Student of the Week.

Deanna has worked in Jacksonville since June of 1996. Her first assignment was covering the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. It's a place she was very familiar with since she went to middle school and high school in the Atlanta area. Since then, Deanna has covered a variety of big stories in Jacksonville. She has flown with the Hurricane Hunters, chased many hurricanes as far away as Wilmington, North Carolina, and covered the launch of the Space Shuttle.

Deanna also covers a lot of medical stories. She says they are often the hardest to do because "they can really break your heart." Deanna is particularly interested in stories about bone marrow transplants, leukemia and other cancers.

A bone marrow donor herself, she feels it's extremely important as many people as possible get the opportunity to get on the National Bone Marrow Registry. Deanna was responsible for holding two bone marrow drives at the station where hundreds of people lined up to get on the registry including Jaguars football players and the mayor.

Deanna enjoys being involved in the community and community events. She serves on two separate boards, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation and the American Heart Association. Deanna graduated with honors from Valdosta State University. After college, she worked at CNN Radio in Atlanta, followed by NBC Radio in Washington, D.C.

Her first television job was in Wilmington, North Carolina. Deanna also worked in Cadillac, Michigan before coming to First Coast News where she started as the weekend news anchor.

Deanna is married to Greg Holland. He is the General Counsel for Modis, or MPS Group. They have a daughter and twin boys.
