Burglary suspect search prompts brief lockdown at Whitehouse Elementary

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Whitehouse Elementary is no longer on lockdown due to police activity nearby.

The school, located near the intersection of Beaver Street and Chaffee Road, went on "code red" lockdown around 10:15 a.m. School officials say all of the students and staff are safe.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was searching for a burglary suspect and the scene is "all clear," a police spokesperson said.
