About the First Coast's Biggest Loser

Exciting news for fans of NBC's smash hit reality show Biggest Loser! First Coast News' local Biggest Loser Contest-Kick It Up First Coast - Biggest Loser has begun!

Patterned after NBC's Biggest Loser on WTLV, NBC-12, the First Coast's Biggest Loser Contest will follow twelve local finalists who will compete to lose the greatest percentage of weight over a 12 week competition. Log onto www.firstcoastnews.com and click on the Biggest Loser banner for specific contest details.

We have chosen our 12 contestants, and the competition will officially begin on Monday, September 14th, 2009 with twelve First Coast Biggest Loser contestants divided into rival teams of six-the men vs. the women. Each team will work out with our fitness partner, Bailey's Powerhouse Gym, and throughout the competition, all 12 contestants will receive a meal plan from dieticians from Memorial Hospital

Every Tuesday, following First Coast News at Noon (at 12:25 p.m.), host Eden Kendall, will chart the contestants' progress in our First Coast Biggest Loser segment. On alternate Tuesdays, finalists from either the Men's Blue Team or the Ladies' Red Team will weigh-in and the person with the lowest percentage loss of body weight will be eliminated. Watch First Coast News Anchor Jeannie Blaylock's Tuesday health segments on FCN at 5:30pm. and follow along with important health issues and Biggest Loser contestants.

Then, every Saturday for 12 weeks, following Good Morning Jacksonville Saturday, a special First Coast Biggest Loser segment will air from 9:45-10:00 AM, and will re-cap the week.

Contestants will compete for the greatest percentage of weight loss, and the winner will receive a Grand Prize including a wardrobe and makeover from Belk, and a Gift Card from Whole Foods, a year-long Gym membership from Bailey's Powerhouse Gym, and new workout clothes and shoes from the Jacksonville Running Company.
