Surprise! 'Dancing With the Stars' Sends Home Fan Fave

At the start of Tuesday's Dancing With the Stars results show, there was a five-way tie for last place. Jack Wagner, Sherri Shepherd, Gavin DeGraw, Melissa Gilbert and Gladys Knight all scored a low 24 points, and were in jeopardy of being sent home.

Nevertheless, judge Len Goodman said, "No one deserves to go home tonight."

Roshon Fegan and Jaleel White were tied with 25 points. Maria Menounos - who danced a sultry rumba with pro partner Derek Hough on Monday's show - had 27. Latin heartthrob William Levy had 28. And opera star Katherine Jenkins, performing with USA TODAY blogger Mark Ballas, had a high score of 29. It was pretty safe to assume they would all be advancing - and they did.

So who was the second celeb to be eliminated from Season 14?

First we heard Seal open the show with Lean On Me. The Macy's Stars of Dance performed. And Rascal Flatts took the stage to sing Changed.

Host Tom Bergeron announced a new twist to the competition: After next week - and continuing for the next three weeks - the bottom two couples will dance simultaneously for the judges and the judges will decide who goes home. (!?)

So, it finally came down to ...

Gavin DeGraw, Gladys Knight and Jack Wagner in the last three spots.

Gladys was deemed safe, much to the relief of the crowd. Gavin and Jack were the final two.

Said Gavin, who wasn't totally surprised to be in jeopardy again, "I'm a repeat offender."

But it was Jack who got the boot! "I had a great time and it was fun to test myself," said Wagner, looking a little stunned but still managing to smile. "Thanks to the judges and good luck to everyone else!"
