'Rockin Ever After' now in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Walt Disney characters you know and love from the movies are now preparing to skate their way into your heart.

A new Disney on Ice show called "Rockin' Ever After" makes its debut at Veterans Memorial Arena in downtown Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The show features four incredibly popular Disney princesses from the smash hit films "Tangled," "Brave," "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Little Mermaid."

It also features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, which are four of Disney's more iconic characters.

Tickets start at $15 for performances that run at various times through Sunday, April 6.

Members of the traveling company joined First Coast News' Jacob Long on Thursday and performed during Good Morning Jacksonville.

The professional and award-winning skaters come from all over the world to audition and entertain together.

Rehearsals take six weeks and include extensive choreography, costume fittings and endless production elements to ensure the show will dazzle on the ice.

JoJo Webber is an ensemble performer who said the goal of each and every performance is to make sure the audience leaves with a lasting memory.

"We just want them to have the time of their life. This is our way of bringing Disney to those families that can't necessarily go to the (theme) parks or go on the (Disney) cruises So, it's our way of bringing all of their favorite characters to their hometown," she said.

This particular company has been traveling with "Rockin' Ever After" for two years now.
