Dodge brings back the Charger Daytona(Photo: Chrysler Group)
Dipping again into its performance heritage for the Los Angeles Auto
Show preview this week, Chrysler Group's Dodge division is bringing back
another famous name from its heyday for 2013 -- the Hemi-powered
Charger Daytona.
The Daytona name has been gone since 2009, when
it showed up overfour successive years. Now that it's back in a more
frugal era, Chrysler is portraying the new Charger Daytona as a
"modern-day muscle car." If that's taken as a warning that it will be
wimpy, think again. The car has a 370-horsepower V-8 under the hood.
Only 2,500 Daytonas will be made and it has been priced at $29,995 for the base R/T version..It goes on sale early next year.
