Two people killed in a crash Friday night in Putnam County have been identified by authorities, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Driver Ralph Pellicer, 43, of Bunnell, and passenger Jobe Podach, 35, of Holly Hill, both died after being ejected from their vehicle in a three-vehicle crash that occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Friday at State Road 100 and County Road 35 in Putnam County.
The two killed in the crash were not wearing seat belts, according to an FHP traffic report.
Three other people spanning three vehicles also suffered serious injuries due to the crash. One other person suffered minor injuries.
The driver of one vehicle struck the rear end of the vehicle that Pellicer, Podach and another person were traveling in, pushing their vehicle into opposite lanes of traffic.
A third vehicle couldn’t stop to avoid impact and struck the front of Pellicer’s vehicle. The vehicle rotated and ejected Pellicer and Podach, a traffic report said.
The crash remains under investigation.
