JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Indigo Toledo, 30, died after a crash which involved a JFRD engine truck.
Toledo's mother told First Coast News he was pursuing an electrician certification at FSCJ and he just turned 30 in November. He was her only son.
Officials report firefighters were working a small brush fire when the sedan ran into the back of the truck. Toledo was pronounced dead at the scene.
The firefighters were transported to the local hospital for unknown injuries.
Toledo's best friend, Andrew Selvagn, said that he was compassionate and helped others whenever he could.
“Whether I needed him with help on my car or emotionally, he was always there to be there for me,” said Selvagn.
Indigo's mother is still working to figure out the circumstances surrounding the accident.
