A man and a woman died Saturday in two separate pedestrian-vehicle crashes in Duval and Clay Counties, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

A man died in a crash on Normandy Boulevard near Blair Road in Duval County. The man and a woman were walking on the side of the road when a semi-truck struck and killed the man. Debris from the crash struck and injured the woman, who was later transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, FHP spokesman Dylan Bryan told First Coast News.

Meanwhile, FHP also responded to a crash on Blanding Boulevard near Jefferson, where three pedestrians were on the side of the road. A 19-year-old woman tried to pass across the street and was struck and killed by a northbound vehicle. The other two pedestrians in this incident were not injured, Bryan said.

In both fatal crashes, the vehicle involved stopped and the drivers have been cooperative with investigators.

Charges may be pending following the outcome of the investigation.

Both crashes caused significant delays in their respective areas.

The victims’ identities have not yet been released to the public.
