Two pedestrians have been struck and killed by a vehicle while trying to cross State Road 16 at I-95 on Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.
FHP posted on Twitter and announced that it was a "double fatal crash."

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Dannyn J. Leyendekcer, was traveling westbound in a gray Pontiac Grand Prix on SR-16 when two pedestrians tried crossing south on the road. The driver struck both pedestrians while they were crossing. One of the pedestrians who died was identified as Eric Blanton, 36 of Hastings, Florida.
State Road 16 was also blocked for a few hours because the westbound lanes were closed.
