A 1-year-old child suffered life-threatening injuries Monday at the Arlington Road-Lillian Road intersection after falling out of a moving vehicle and being struck by another car, according to JSO.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 1-year-old child remains in critical condition Wednesday after he fell out of a moving vehicle and was struck by another vehicle at the Arlington Road-Lillian Road intersection.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office identified the child as Kingston Love. A Wolfson Children's Hospital spokesperson told First Coast News he is still suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday and involved two vehicles. One vehicle was driven by a woman, identified as Katrina Monique Bennett, 25, with four children inside, including Love, according to the police report. She was driving in the area when Love opened one of the doors and fell out of the vehicle, authorities said.

A vehicle behind them struck the child, who was later transported with life-threatening injuries to Wolfson’s Children Hospital, JSO told First Coast News.

Police said none of the children in the vehicle were in car seats and Bennett could face charges.

The other driver is not facing any charges due to the crash being an accident.
